Suicide Prevention Day is September 10th, 2022. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness nationwide that suicide can be prevented. As a means of keeping the community connected with resources this month and in November, Removing The Stigma (RTS) is sharing important resources with you.

The ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga (Alcohol, Drug Addiction, & Mental Health Services) will be offering free QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Suicide Prevention Training that is open to the community. QPR is an Evidenced-Based Practice Model that teaches three simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. The training will raise awareness about suicide, dispel myths and misconceptions, and teach warning signs of suicide followed by QPR Gatekeeper intervention.

The training will be done via Zoom on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Become the gatekeeper of your community. Help save a life. To sign up, use this link: <>, or contact Regina Spicer or Carmen Gandarilla at (216) 241-3400. Be sure to mention you heard about the training by reading the Removing The Stigma article in The Cleveland Observer.

2 FREE continuing education units (CEUs, RCHs) will be provided for this training.

Starting September 1, 2022 on the Removing the Stigma website, we will have a webpage focused solely on resources about Suicide Prevention & Awareness available for the community.  Sign up today to be the first to receive the link.
